About Sean Kelly

Sean was born on Prince Edward Island and completed his undergrad degree at UPEI and his law degree at the University of New Brunswick. During his articles he clerked at the Supreme Court of Prince Edward. Clerking at the Court gave him an opportunity to learn first hand how judges apply the law to make decisions. After getting called to the bar of PEI in 2001 he practiced with a well respected PEI firm whose roots go back well into the 1800’s. In 2004 he joined the litigation group of a large international law firm and moved to Whitehorse and was called to the bar of the Yukon Territory in 2004. In 2006 he discovered the wonderful lifestyle to be found in Okanagan and resigned from the large international firm to begin building his practice here. He was called to the bar of British Columbia in 2006 and eventually designed and created his own litigation boutique firm in 2011.

His practice has always focused on litigation and resolving disputes. Sean has advised clients of all sizes and types in various types of business, regulatory, insurance, construction and property disputes. He is experienced trial counsel and has appeared before the courts of PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, the Yukon, BC and Alberta. In addition, Sean has appeared before several administrative tribunals and has successfully resolved several matters through mediation.

Sean has many interests outside law and when not at the office or a hearing he usually is playing in the mountains on his bike or skis, hiking with his dogs, or at home reading or playing music. He is active in the community, is a member of the executive of the Okanagan Section of the Alpine Club of Canada, a legal advisor and sponsor for the Mountain Bikers of the Central Okanagan, a non-profit society.  He is also a member of the Urban Development Institute.
